How to Clean Wood Fence without a Pressure Washer

Pressure washers are pretty handy – at least for getting your fence nice and clean. But there are a ton of other ways to go about it too, such as power washing or using a sponge.

Fences are subject to many of the same problems as other outdoor surfaces. They can be dirty from dust, pollen, pollutants, and other contaminants. The soapy water will help remove these particles, but it’s important to make sure that the ratio is correct or you may risk damaging the surface.

That answer might largely depend on how much you want to get a physical scrub in. You will need to clean that first and then use a pressure washer for the tough stuff. If you don’t have access to one, you can also do it with some good old elbow grease too.

Pressure washers are not the only way to clean your fence; they can be expensive and take up a lot of time. There are a couple of different methods that you can use.

Mold, mildew, and algae can be unsightly and dangerous for your health. Mold, mildew, and algae can cause many different health problems including hay fever, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma & allergies. These products have been proven to remove mold from brick, mortar, metal, and vinyl siding while producing zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).

Fence Cleaning Home Armor, a company that specializes in indoor and outdoor remediation, has undergone some changes. The company is changing its name to Mold Armor and will now specialize in mold remediation.

The Fence and decking mold armor is the perfect solution for your fence needs. This product is formulated to protect and beautify your property. It can be used on a variety of surfaces such as wood, vinyl, aluminum, and more. The cost may vary depending on the amount you need but it will be worth it to protect your investment in your property.

A good way to prevent plants from getting any chemicals on them is to soak them in a pot of water. This will dilute most of the chemicals that could get on the plant and harm it.

If you would like to clean your deck or fence without the use of a pressure washer, then give these 6 tips a try. You will need a bucket, bleach, dish soap, baking soda, and one of the following:

  • Jomax mildew killer
  • Home Armor Instant mold and mildew stain remover.
  • Wet and Forget moss mold mildew and algae stain remover.
  • LA’s totally awesome all-purpose concentrated cleaner and degreaser.
  • Clorox bleach
  • Vinegar

To get rid of the mold or mildew from your fence you’ll need to use a special spray called Mold Armor

First, use the directions on the product carefully and make sure you’re wearing gloves as well. Next, fill up a spray bottle with water and then add in the recommended amount of Mold Armor. Spray it thoroughly onto your fence and let it sit for a few minutes depending on the type of wood you have.

You might have heard the ads on TV for the new ‘no scrub’ cleaning product. It does say that you can just spray it on, but if you want to remove the dirt, you’re going to have to scrub it off.

Mold Armor also has a water-based product that is easy to use and can be sprayed on anything around the house, like decks or fences. It’s not as strong and effective, but it’s a good alternative if you’re unsure which product to choose.

We would recommend buying the light version of this product if you have a small amount of mold or mildew, as the full-strength version could be too powerful for your needs.

Home Remedies to Clean Your Fence

Vinegar and baking soda are good alternatives to caustic chemicals, but you will have to scrub. The caustic chemicals cut grease and grime, which vinegar and baking soda do not. This means that you will have to scrub the tub more with a sponge or cloth to get rid of all the dirt and grime.

Vinegar is a great way to clean mildew stains. Combine with baking soda and water to create a strong cleaning solution for removing dirt and grime.

Mildew is a common cosmetic problem for fences. If the mildew stain is pretty bad, you can spray full-strength vinegar to break up the

mildew stain. Either diluted or full strength, let the vinegar soak on the fence board for a few minutes then test it by wiping it with a cloth.

If the mildew is stubborn, try scrubbing with some vinegar and baking soda. Spray vinegar on the moldy area and then sprinkle on some baking soda. Scrub both with your brush. You may have to do this several times to get rid of the mildew stain.

If you want to get the dirt off your fence, you can use soap and water. Mix a little liquid soap with water and scrub the fence. If you want to make it easier to scrub the fence, use a deck brush on a long pole.

The longer handle on this brush should make it easier to clean your gutters. The bristles are stiff so you can use them for scrubbing and the pole makes it easy to access hard-to-reach areas too.

When deciding which type of pole to use (whether it be threaded or not), make sure to get a metal threaded tip. If you’re using a non-metal one, the threads can get stripped if you put any pressure on them.

Now that your fence is clean, you’ll need to maintain it by keeping it free of dirt, grime, and stains. Follow the tips above on how to clean a fence, and it will stay looking good for years to come.
